Lieutenant Gen. John Toolan Jr., the commanding general of I Marine Expeditionary Force, returns applause to a sell-out crowd at Petco Park here, Aug. 4, 2013, before throwing the ceremonial first pitch during the San Diego Padres vs. New York Yankees game. Baseball fans gave a standing ovation to Marines of 1st Marine Logistics Group, Marine drill instructors from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, and sailors of the USS Carl Vinson who lined the baseball diamond just before the start of the game.
