MONROE, La. – Nineteen Louisiana Army National Guardsmen completed a challenging 15-part obstacle course at Camp Beauregard in Pineville, La., during their monthly Officer Candidate School drill activities, on Oct. 18.

The course at Camp Beauregard is used to teach Soldiers the value of teamwork and mental ingenuity during Phase ll of the program. The candidates will face a much tougher course that is required for OCS graduation during Phase lll at Fort Lewis, Wash., in July 2009.

The officer candidates are currently in the ninth month of the 18-month 199th Leadership Regiment's Officer Candidate School program headquartered at Camp Cook in Ball, La., and are working to receive their commissions as second lieutenants.
