AUSTIN, Texas – (April 19, 2021) To ensure that Sailors assigned to Navy Recruiting Command (NRC) received the best training to accomplish the mission of attracting the highest quality candidates to assure the ongoing success of America’s Navy, NRC deployed a subject matter expert to train Sailors assigned to Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) San Antonio in Salesforce/Applicant Relationship Management (ARM).
Cryptologic Technician (Networks) 1st Class Javiair Mattingly, of Owensboro, Ky., NRC’s Salesforce/ARM coordinator, delivered training of Salesforce/ARM to Sailors of Talent Acquisition Onboarding Center (TAOC) Capital City at Capital City VFW Post 8787.
“It’s important for recruiters to know the ins and outs of Salesforce,” said Mattingly. “NRC purchased the system to make our recruiters lives and jobs a lot easier. It possesses all the processes needed for recruiter success.”
According to Chief Navy Counselor Jason Dovalina, of Houston, a division leading chief petty officer (DLCPO) assigned to TAOC Capital City, having a Sailor like Mattingly onsite to provide critical training is irreplaceable.
“With 26 NTAGs within NRC, the continuity of communication from the subject matter expert to the field is one of the most critical parts of making sure we get this right,” said Dovalina, who has been a DLCPO for four years with NTAG San Antonio. “You are not going to get that level of expertise remotely.”
Salesforce/ARM was adopted by NRC approximately one year ago. The ARM module of Salesforce acts as an assistant, allowing Sailors to spend more time processing and interacting with applicants.
Sailors are able to discover high quality applicants using the ARM star rating system and search functions. Additionally, Sailors can blueprint and track their applicants in one location and collaborate with them in the ARM community. The module allows Sailors to create helpful reminders, calendar events, and constant communication with applicants and process dynamic reports based on real-time data in the application.
In additional to providing training in Austin, Mattingly, assisted by Senior Chief Navy Counselor Kevin Jones, of Chicago, NTAG San Antonio’s recruiting tactics instructor, conducted training in San Antonio and Corpus Christi, Texas.
NTAG San Antonio’s area of responsibility includes two TAOCs which manage more than 34 Navy Recruiting Stations and Navy Officer Recruiting Stations spread throughout 144,000 square miles of Central and South Texas territory.
