U.S. Army Lt. Col. Michael C. Adler, commander of the 2-111th Aviation Regiment, Airfield Operations Battalion (AOB), cased the battaltion’s guidon to ceremonial signify the unit’s relinquishing of mission responsibility over to the incoming unit, the 1-107th Aviation Regiment, AOB, during a transfer of authority ceremony at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, Oct. 15, 2021.
In support of Combined Joint Task Force - Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA), the 1-107th AOB, commanded by Lt. Col. Mark C. Jordan, will enable safe and efficient air operations in CJTF-HOA’s area of interest.
The AOB provides CJTF-HOA several capabilities including air traffic controllers, airfield ground management teams, technical expertise and state of the art equipment to support flying operations in austere environments. They also embed with local partners to plan and execute missions while working to improve and refine operations.
“I commit to CJTF-HOA and their mission, the dedication and professionalism of every 1-107th Soldier,” Jordan said. “CJTF-HOA has a rich history and we are extremely proud to add to it. Now it’s time for us to get to work!”
