    Petty Officer Claire M. Alfaro (nee DuBois) is a mass communication specialist assigned to Commander, Naval Surface Force U.S. Pacific Fleet public affairs. Alfaro, a native of Rockford, Michigan, graduated from Cornerstone University with a Bachelor's degree in Communication & Writing in May 2017. She entered the Navy in June 2018. After completing basic training, she completed the Basic Mass Communication Specialist Course at the Defense Information School in Fort George G. Meade, Maryland. In April 2019, she was assigned to American Forces Network Diego Garcia as a radio and television broadcaster. She transferred to Navy Public Affairs Support Element East Detachment Europe in September 2020, where she was an independent-duty deployer creating content for forward-deployed naval force patrols in the 6th fleet area of responsibility. She completed two patrols with the destroyer USS Ross. She transferred to her current command in September 2022.
