Cody Tyler Purcell was born February 14, 2002 in Savannah, Georgia. He shipped to boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island on Jan. 11, 2021 at South Carolina. He graduated May 8, 2021 and reported to Marine Combat Training (MCT) at Camp Lejeune, NC., on May 10. Upon completion of MCT on June 02, Cody Purcell received orders to Fort Meade, Maryland, where he was enrolled in the Mass Communication Foundations course at the Defense Information School. He was promoted to lance corporal on Jan. 1, 2022. He graduated the MCF course on February 20, then enrolled in the Visual Information Documentation course on March 3. He graduated VISDOC on April 4 and received his MOS as a 4571, combat videographer. He reported to Headquarters Battalion, at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, on April 14, 2022. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal on Jan. 25, 2023.
