Army Staff Sgt. Andrew Crouse briefs his team on how to build a demolition system. Soldiers were given 15 minutes to demonstrate how to properly construct a demolition system using inert explosives at this year’s Sapper Stakes competition. Soldiers in the 105th Engineer Battalion competed in the battalion’s annual Sapper Stakes event, Sept. 14, at Camp Butner National Guard Training Center in Stem, N.C., where 140 soldiers were evaluated on engineering skills and warrior tasks.
