Army Staff Sgt. Andrew Crouse, Spc. William Johnson, and Pfc. Samuel Reel connect a primed inert explosive to the main line while Spc. George Yates prepares the ignition system at Camp Butner National Guard Training Center in Stem, N.C., Sept. 14. Soldiers were given 15 minutes to demonstrate how to properly construct a demolition system using inert explosives at this year’s Sapper Stakes competition.
