Lauren Bruner, a USS Arizona survivor, presents Rear Adm. Rear Adm. Fumiyuki Kitagawa, JMSDF vice commander, Combined Task Force commander, Escort Flotilla 3, with a gift during his visit to Hawaii. Bruner along with five fellow crewmen manned one of the Arizona's anti-aircraft gun batteries on the ship's port side during the attack of Dec. 7, 1941. He was one of the last to leave the ship before she sank to the bottom of Pearl Harbor. Bruner is visiting Hawaii during Battle of Midway commemoration events. Kitagawa helped lead the multinational Rim of the Pacific Exercise in and around Hawaii in 2012. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Nardel Gervacio/Released)
