Lauren Bruner, a USS Arizona survivor, greets Rear Adm. Frank Ponds, commander, Navy Region Hawaii and Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific, during Bruner's visit to Hawaii. Bruner and five fellow crewmen manned one of the Arizona's anti-aircraft gun batteries on the ship's port side during the attack. He was one of the last to leave the ship before she sank to the bottom of Pearl Harbor. Ponds hosted Dec. 7 commemoration events for the Navy in 2011 and 2012 at Pearl Harbor.
