Capt. Chris Loftus (right), a native of Honolulu, who serves as commander of Company A, 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, and 1st Sgt. David Dougherty, a native of Albuquerque, N.M., who serves as his senior enlisted leader, are both awarded the bronze star medal by Maj. Gen. Jeffery Hammond, the commanding general of the 4th Infantry Division and Multi-National Division-Baghdad, at Joint Security Station Tarmiyah, northwest of Baghdad, Aug. 28, 2008. The two men have led their unit with courage while working to defeat terrorist cells in northwest Baghdad.
