White, the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit Color Sergeant, stands motionless in the early morning fog as the Marines and sailors of the unit prepare for a three-mile formation run aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 12, 2008. The run, consisting of more than 1,200 Marines and sailors, was the first event of a six-month training period and subsequent six-month deployment. The unit colors, held by White throughout the run, display the unit's battle streamers.
