North Carolina Army National Guard Lt. Col. Rodney Newton, the newly-appointed 105th Engineer Battalion commander, speaks at a change of command ceremony at Hoke County High School in Raeford, N.C., Jan. 11. During the ceremony, Newton accepted the unit flag from Lt. Col. Luke Burnett, the outgoing commander, which signified the passing of the leadership mantle. Newton lives in Clayton, N.C., and he joked about his grandmother making the drive from Rockingham to Raeford, N.C., for the ceremony. He asked the soldiers to look out for her on their way home because her car is always breaking down. (National Guard Photo by Sgt.
