Georgia Army National Guard 2nd Lt. Julia Mack with the 878th Engineer Battalion, based in Augusta, hacks into a fallen tree branch in the front of a home during the guard’s mission to clear the streets from fallen tree debris in the Augusta area in the aftermath of Winter Storm Pax. Mack, a resident of Milledgeville, has been in the guard since 2008, and is a recent graduate of Georgia College and State University. “It is an honor be a leader at the time the state of Georgia is in need,” said Mack.
