Georgia Army National Guard 2nd Lt. Julia Mack with the 878th Engineer Battalion, based in Augusta, hacks into a fallen tree branch in the front of an Augusta home during the guard’s mission to clear the streets from fallen tree debris in the Augusta area in the aftermath of Winter Storm Pax. Mack, a resident of Milledgeville, has been in the guard since 2008, and is a recent graduate of Georgia College and State University. “It is an honor be a leader at the time the state of Georgia is in need,” said Mack.
