A Special Operations Command South paratrooper deploys his LPU-10 life preserver unit as he descends onto a water dropzone in Biscayne Bay near Homestead, Fla., Feb. 21. The LPU-10 provides flotation for all water-based military operations and exercises. This operation allows airborne-qualified personnel assigned to SOCSOUTH to maintain current airborne proficiency and mission readiness.
