Service members with Company I, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, stand at attention after receiving special recognition March 8 during the closing ceremony for Exercise Forest Light 14-2 at Sekiyama Training Area, Niigata prefecture, Japan. Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Col. Tatsuya Osaki presented the gifts to the Marines and corpsman for showing outstanding effort during the training. 3rd Bn., 1st Marines, is currently assigned to 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
