Spectators listen to a performance by the Parris Island Marine Band at the University of South Carolina-Beaufort in Beaufort, S.C., on March 21, 2014. The band performed an assortment of musical pieces, including numerous jazz pieces and traditional military songs. The band performs at numerous concerts, parades and military ceremonies throughout the Eastern United States, as well as local events to strengthen ties with the neighboring community. They also provide musical support for Parris Island by playing at recruit graduations. The Parris Island Jazz Band is scheduled to perform at the Soft Shell Crab Festival in Port Royal, S.C., on April 19, 2014.
