Sgt. Justin Grunes, a clarinet player in the Parris Island Marine Band, plays a jazz solo during a band performance at the University of South Carolina-Beaufort in Beaufort, S.C., on March 21, 2014. Grunes, 29, is a native of Newark, Del. The band performed an assortment of musical pieces, including numerous jazz pieces and traditional military songs. The band performs at many events throughout the Eastern United States each year, including recruit graduations on Parris Island S.C. The Parris Island Jazz Band is scheduled to perform at the Soft Shell Crab Festival in Port Royal, S.C., on April 19, 2014.
