Petty Officer 3rd Class Richard Stevenson bolts down a tail rudder on an SH-60F Seahawk, assigned to the "Black Knights" of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 4, in the hangar bay of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan. As an aviation electrician's mate, Stevenson installs and maintains flight and engine instrument systems, which include automatic flight control, stabilization, aircraft compass, attitude reference, and inertial navigation systems. Ronald Reagan is currently deployed to the 5th Fleet/NAVCENT area of responsibility. Operations in the NAVCENT area of operations are focused on reassuring regional partners of the United States' commitment to security, which promotes stability and global prosperity.
