Colorado Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Leonard Fehrni, a bugler with the 101st Army Band, plays Taps at the funeral for Army National Guard Sgt. Jon Stiles at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Nov. 21. Stiles, 38, of Highlands Ranch, Colo., was killed in action when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, Nov. 13, while deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the Louisiana National Guard. Prior to his deployment, he was assigned to the Colorado Army National Guard's Battery B, 3rd Battalion, 157th Field Artillery in Aurora, Colo. He had also served on the Colorado Honor Guard for more than a year. He and his wife Launa would have celebrated their eight wedding anniversary on Wednesday. Launa referred to Stiles as a "Soldier's Soldier."
