Jose Alfaro, regional coordinator for the central zone, El Salvador Civil Protection, provides direction to exercise participants May 12 during the second field training exercise, an event inside the larger FA-HUM exercise. FA-HUM, a disaster preparedness and humanitarian two-week exercise takes place in El Salvador from May 5-16. The U.S. Southern Command-sonsored exercise includes command post and field exercises for not only El Salvador but about a dozen other countries from Central, North and South America. Army South is the executive agent.
