Landon, an indirect fire infantryman, and Choi served together in the 6th Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, was killed in action Feb. 26, 2005, in Abertha, Iraq, after an improvised explosive device ripped through the vehicle he was in.
