Pilots assigned to 2nd Battalion, 135th Aviation Regiment, Colorado Army National Guard, prepare the CH-47D Chinook for flight just outside its hangar at Buckley Air Force Base Dec. 10, 2008. The pilots are flying the Chinook to Fort Carson, Colo., to give paratroopers assigned to 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) a platform to perform their airborne operations. More than 100 paratroopers will conduct the mission despite the chilly 25 degree Fahrenheit temperature. "The winds are supposed to be fairly light, so it should be a good day," said Chief Warrant Officer Curtis Hathcock, a pilot assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 135th Aviation Regiment.
