D’Artagnan Hook, a Life Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, held a dedication ceremony for the fire pit he built at Armed Forces Park in Yuma, Ariz., Wednesday. This fire pit is the first in Yuma where American flags can be officially retired. Hook cut a flag that was flown over the park into strips to be the first flag to be retired in the new pit. Members of Kofa High School's Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps helped hold the flag to ensure it did not fall.
