Two U.S. Army paratroopers from 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, carry firewood toward a local Zvanninieki Alternative Family Home during a community outreach event May 30, 2014, in Vaive, Latvia. Approximately 120 soldiers from 500th Engineer Company and the 173rd Airborne Brigade based out of Vicenza, Italy, joined allied soldiers from a Latvian engineer company for the day’s community outreach event. The soldiers also collected and split firewood, and constructed the foundation for a barn, during the event, which was organized by the U.S. Embassy in Latvia. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
