Cadets from the Youth Challenge Academy (YCA) sit patiently and wait to graduate during a ceremony, June 11 at McCrady Training Center after completing the 22-week training course. The YCA is a second-chance program that helps youth by providing training in life skills, academic skills, leadership and physical fitness, which are part of the eight core components taught during the course. The program is designed to help youth acquire the basic skills and education necessary to succeed in life, which includes the opportunity to earn their General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
