Members of the Guatemalan team run from the rafting station to the swim station in the Fuerzas Comando Aquatics event at Lake Pastrana, Colombia, July 27. Each of the teams from 17 nations had to carry a raft to the lake, row across, run about five kilometers with their rucks to the next station, swim across a large pond, and then sprint to the pistol marksmanship range. The Fuerzas Comando competition was first established in 2004, has 17 participating nations this year, and continues to build the required capacity to confront common threats that cannot be defeated by traditional military means alone.
