George Hasseltine, the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force South commanding officer, and a native of Metairie, La., talks to distinguished visitors from Uruguay about the capability that SPMAGTF-South brings to the future amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) during a leadership conference, Aug. 13, 2014. The leadership conference discussed the importance of partnership and cooperation between the U.S. Naval forces and the Nation of Uruguay. SPMAGTF-South is embarked aboard America on her maiden transit dubbed, “America Visits the Americas.” The transit aims to demonstrate the capabilities the Navy-Marine Corps team brings to our nation and partners.
