Rear Adm. Gary R. Jones, commander, Naval Education and Training Command, welcomes attendees to the Naval Aviation Symposium at the National Museum of Naval Aviation onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola, Fla., May 7. In his opening comments for the two-day event, Jones said the Navy is busy producing expert aviators, air crewmen, and support personnel who will fly in, and maintain airframes that many have only dreamed about. "There is still much to be learned about aviation, and events like this symposium can help us in our continuum of learning that support, not only our individual careers, but Naval Aviation's role in preserving and securing the freedom of our great nation."
