Sailors aboard the Navy's forward-deployed amphibious dock landing ship USS Tortuga (LSD 46), prepare to get alongside the fleet replenishment oiler USNS John Ericson (T-AO 194) during restricted maneuvering for an underway replenishment. Tortuga is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready group, underway for Summer Deployment and scheduled to participate in military exercise Talisman Saber 2009 (TS09) with the Australian Forces. The purpose of Talisman Saber is to train U.S. and Australian joint task force and operations staff in crisis action planning for execution of contingency operations. TS09 supports increased interoperability, flexibility and readiness, all of which are force multipliers in winning the global war on terror.
