Rear Adm. Samuel Perez, deputy director of Joint Interagency Task Force South, examines some of the gear used by the Navy's Fleet Survey Team from Cmdr. Raymond Delgado and Capt. John Cousins. Fleet Survey Team outfits a variety of platforms, such as enhanced expeditionary survey vehicles (also known as jet-skis) and rigid-hull inflatable boats, with side-scan sonar and other equipment to collect hydrographic data used to create navigation field charts for Defense customers.
