Seaman Recruit Samuel Alston, from Beaumont, Texas, tries on his newly-issued Navy Working Uniform (NWU) with his fellow Division 227 recruits April 30, 2009, at Recruit Training Command (RTC), the Navy's only boot camp. The NWU will replace the current working uniform and all present recruits at RTC will be issued the NWU over the next several weeks. New recruits will be issued the uniform on their P-2 Day, or second day at RTC. Recruits are fitted and try on uniforms, including the NWU, in their yellow T-shirt and blue shorts, or physical training gear. After recruits take their duffel bag, or sea bag, full of uniform items back to their barracks, they change to a blue T-shirt that will be worn under the NWU blouse. (U.S. Navy photo by Scott A.
