The agreement between Camp Hansen and Kin Town officials allows local residents to seek safety on the installation during natural disasters. “This agreement will formalize our already strong, mutually supporting relationship,” said McBride, the camp commander for Camp Hansen. “The pacific is a very dangerous place to live. The Great East Japan Earthquake of 2011 demonstrated that, and we’ve got to be prepared every day for potential natural disasters.” Kayo is the community relations specialist for Camp Hansen.
