Hajime Nakama, left, and Col. Sean M. McBride, from Butte, Montana, shake hands after signing a local implementation agreement Sept. 29 at the Palms on Camp Hansen. The signing of the agreement allows Kin Town residents entry into Camp Hansen in the event of a natural disaster. “I hope and pray that we will never have to execute a real disaster relief operation here in the Kin Town area,” said McBride, the camp commander for Camp Hansen. “I’m very confident that if it occurs we will be ready. I think the key to our success will be to continue training together and allowing our Kin Town partners to get on board Camp Hansen; training side by side with the first responders.” Nakama is the mayor of Kin Town mayor.
