Master Sgt. Lauralee Futrell, the operations chief for Combat Logistics Battalion 24, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is awarded the Meritorious Service Medal aboard the USS New York, Oct. 24, 2014. Futrell received the award for exceptional performance while serving as the logistics chief for Marine Special Operations Support Group from 2009 to 2014. CLB 24 is currently at sea aboard the New York as part of Composite Training Unit Exercise, the final major pre-deployment training event for the 24th MEU before their deployment at the end of the year.
