Utah National Guard 85th WMD Civil Support Team participates in a training scenario Nov. 4, 2014, at U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground during Vigilant Guard regional earthquake response exercise. This scenario was that, during a massive, statewide earthquake, a container of VX "nerve gas" was spilled inside a Dugway lab. The 85th WMD CST responded to assess the extent and danger of the spill. A sealed viewing area inside the building allows viewing and remote operation during actual testing of chemical defense items. Here, a CST member in protective gear checks the control room for leaks, during the exercise, using a chemical detector.
