Retired Air Force Col. Paul Koshewa, 92, shares his story with Georgia National Guard Director of the Joint Staff, Brig. Gen. John F. King, following the Atlanta History Center’s Veterans Day program in the adjoining Veterans Park on Tuesday. Koshewa has been decorated in three wars, WWII, Korea and Vietnam and spent 13 years of his 30 year military career as a pilot on Dobbins Air Reserve Base. King’s office overlooks the airfield from the Clay National Guard Center. Exchanging their ‘down range’ stories, and shaking the hand of the Purple Heart recipient, the two parted ways with King saying, “It is to you, sir, that I owe honors.” (Georgia Army National Guard Photo by Staff Sgt.
