Vice Admiral Mark Fox, Deputy Commander for U.S. Central Command, shakes hands with a member of the Colombian Army, Nov. 13 at the Multinational Force and Observer’s North Camp in Sinai, Egypt. During his visit to the Sinai, Fox met with U.S. Soldiers assigned to Task Force Sinai as well as multinational Soldiers from various countries. During a static display, the Colombian Soldiers displayed their riot control gear and explained how they support the MFO’s peacekeeping mission to Fox. Here, in the MFO, the Colombian soldiers are responsible for tower security, convoy security as well as riot control. They, like the 13 other contingents that make up the MFO, also take on a number of other missions. The MFO is one of the longest running peacekeeping missions in history. Its primary mission is to observe, verify and report compliance of the peace treaty signed between Egypt and Israel 32 years ago. (U.S. Army Photos By: Sgt.
