Vice Admiral Mark Fox, Deputy Commander for U.S. Central Command, shakes hands with a doctor from the Republic of Fiji Army Nov. 13 at the Multinational Force and Observer’s North Camp in Sinai, Egypt. During his visit to the Sinai, Fox met with U.S. Soldiers assigned to Task Force Sinai as well as multinational Soldiers from various countries. During a static display, members of the MFO medical team including Fiji doctors explained the role they play in support the MFO’s peacekeeping mission to Fox. Here, in the MFO, the Fijian soldiers are responsible for security on many of the remote sites as well as convoy security. They, like the 13 other contingents that make up the MFO, also take on a number of other missions. The MFO is one of the longest running peacekeeping missions in history. Its primary mission is to observe, verify and report compliance of the peace treaty signed between Egypt and Israel 32 years ago. (U.S. Army Photos By: Sgt.
