Seaman Kathleen O'Keefe is congratulated by the Rear Adm. Frank Thorp, Chief of Information, during her graduation ceremony at the Defense Information School at Fort George G. Meade. O'Keefe is the first Defense Information School graduate to receive the Bobby McRill Award for outstanding performance at Defense Information School. McRill was killed in combat in Iraq in 2007 and the McRill Award has been created in his honor to be presented to the Mass Communication Specialist who best displays the Navy's core values of honor, courage and commitment.
