Maj. Gen. Mark Brilakis speaks to the University of Alabama's Crimson Tide gymnastics team during a surprise visit to the university Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2015. Brilakis, the commanding general of Marine Corps Recruiting Command, spoke to the young women about their accomplishments as athletes and students. During the visit, Brilakis also recognized Mary Sanders, a gymnast with the team who had recently been selected to attend the Marine Corps' Platoon Leaders Class in hopes of earning the title Marine Corps officer.
