150211-N-UK306-062 SAN DIEGO (Feb. 11, 2015) –The freshly painted and refurbished superstructure of the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) sees the light of day for the first time in more than five months. In early October, the ship’s island was encased in protective shrink-wrap during extensive preservation efforts. Reagan is homeported in San Diego and is undergoing a Planned Incremental Availability (PIA) maintenance period at Naval Base Coronado.
