Marines attached to Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force were afforded the opportunity to take a tour of the ancient temples in the area, Feb. 15. The Marines visited the ancient city and its multiple Buddha sculptures – a city once the largest in the world, with about a million residents, in 1700. The visiting Marines are in Thailand in support of Cobra Gold 2015, a Thailand / United States, co-sponsored multinational, conducted annually in the Kingdom of Thailand, with 25 nations participating this year.
