The newly restored Sultan Saqi Shrine sits at the far end of an on-base cemetery. 506th Air Expeditionary Group and Iraqi air force airmen collaborated to restore the shrine prior to a May 27, visit by local families of buried relatives, and Iraqi civic and religious leaders. The shrine and cemetery grounds are believed to be more than 400 years old.
