150223-N-KG618-036 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Feb. 23, 2015) - Machinist's Mate 1st Class Stephan Piper, boiler technician of the watch, conducts routine safety checks in the fire room of the U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), prior "light off." Blue Ridge successfully conducted a "light off" of its boilers, providing steam to power the steam plant, in order to resume patrols of the 7th Fleet area of operations.
