Sgt. First Class Cary Adams of the 2-18 Field Artillery Regiment out of Camp Lemonier, Djibouti, stands in formation with the students of the Counter Terrorism Course, on June 16, at Camp Kasenyi, Uganda. This is the sixth iteration of the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa supported course and 133 Ugandian soldiers graduated. The service members of CJTF-HOA, headquartered in Djibouti, employ an indirect approach to counter violent extremism. Through a strategy of cooperative conflict prevention the task force helps build the internal capacities of countries at risk to prevail against extremists exploiting instability.
