150317-N-NT265-438 EAST CHINA SEA (March 17, 2015) – An MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft, assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor (VMM) 262, sits on the flight deck of the flight deck of the forward-deployed Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48). Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAV), assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), move through the East China Sea, preparing to enter the well deck of Ashland. Ashland is part of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, along with the embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is currently conducting a certification exercise (CERTEX).
