150317-N-NT265-524 EAST CHINA SEA (March 17, 2015) – Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAV), assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), prepare to enter the well deck of the forward-deployed Whidbey Island-class amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48). Ashland is part of the Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, along with the embarked 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, is currently conducting a certification exercise (CERTEX).
