Mr. Jim Carney, retired Montana Air National Guard, is a founding member of the Manas Air Base Outreach Society (MABOS) and lives in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. Organized in 2003, MABOS is comprised of 10 focus groups giving members of the 376th Air Expeditionary Wing the option of becoming a member and volunteering in the local community. The primary aim of MABOS is to collect money, donated items, and time to those less fortunate in the Bishkek area. To date MABOS has contributed more than17,000 man-hours, $65,000 and 40,000 pounds of donated items. Current focus groups for AEF 9/10 are: ChildrenÃ?s Heart Fund, Habitat for Humanity, Blind Boarding School, Babushka Adoption Foundation, Belovodosky Psycho/Neurological Orphanage, ChildrenÃ?s Cancer Center, TokMok Orphanages, Lyceum vocational school, Center for the People, and Burn Unit.
